Erin Banholzer

 
 

Appointed Principal Oboe of the Ocean City Pops in 2022, Erin Banholzer enjoys an active career as an orchestral musician and educator. She has performed with notable orchestras across the United States, including the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra. She has also appeared internationally on several occasions, including on tour with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, in concerts for members of the Vatican in Rome, Italy, and in performances at the Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman.

A sought-after educator, Banholzer is a member of the oboe faculty at the University of Delaware School of Music. She has presented masterclasses at many institutions including Northwestern University, the Cleveland Institute of Music, New York University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Banholzer received her Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University and Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She participated in the Performance Residency program at Carnegie Mellon University and earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Rutgers University.
