Mark O’Kain

 
 

Mark O’Kain has been the Percussionist of the Ocean City POPS orchestra since 1988.  In addition to his musical duties he is also the Personnel Manager and Music Librarian for the POPS.  From Oak Ridge, TN - Mark attended the University of Tennessee and Southern Methodist University.  He is a former staff percussionist at Opryland, USA in Nashville, TN and was a member of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band from 1994-1998. 

He performs frequently with former OC POPS pianist Jeffrey Uhlig.  They have released 2 CD's featuring keyboard percussion -  "Classics to Ragtime" and "A Keyboard Christmas".   In his free time, Mark enjoys gardening, crossword puzzles, outdoor activities, and traveling.

For most of the last 20 years - Mark has been touring with Broadway Musicals including “Les Miserables” (1750 performances !), “Edward Scissorhands”, “My Fair Lady”, “Mary Poppins”, “The Gershwin’s Porgy & Bess”, and “The King & I”.
