On May 7, 1824, Ludwig van Beethoven's ninth and final symphony debuted at Vienna’s Theater am Kärntnertor. This year, almost every orchestra in the world will be celebrating the 200th anniversary of this masterwork, and the Ocean City Pops is excited to take part in those celebrations on Wednesday, August 28. Our 2024 season opens with one of the most captivating performers in Broadway history! Bernadette Peters, the legendary star of stage and screen, brings her powerful and unique artistry to the Ocean City Music Pier for this one night-only event.

The award-winning actress and singer’s career spans film, television and stage. She won Tony Awards for her roles in the musicals “Annie Get Your Gun” and Song and Dance,” and she received five other nominations and an honorary award. Four of the cast albums on which she starred have won Grammy Awards. Peters starred in films, including “Silent Movie,” “The Jerk” and “Pennies From Heaven.” She and Lea Salonga will return to Broadway in 2025 to star in “Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends.”
